The press conference for the new hotel at Seven Feathers was this morning. There will now be 298 rooms, 12 suites, 2 convention rooms and a buffet style restaurant serving Mexican, Oriental, Italian, Mediterranean, and American. A Spa will also be opening sometime in July.

City Council has employed a late notice for water service of $10.00. If you notice street lights out please notify them. They have applied for a grant to pave 5th street.

The Lions Club have a BBQ stand at the Chili Cook Off at Seven Feathers this weekend. They will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs from 11am until the crowds thin out. The proceeds will go to benefit the sight and hearing fund.

Pioneer Days is still looking for more talent for the Talent Show. It is free to enter this year and you can pick up applications from Tamara at Hoff's. Donations are also being accepted to help pay for entertainment and use. They are holding a raffle for a 42" flat screen TV. Tickets go on sale Wednesday they are $5 each or 5 for 20. There is also preferred seating being offered this year. We are also needing pies to sell.

The North Welcome to Canyonville sign still needs the ditch filled in but is otherwise finished.

Kathy Brown is going to look into availability of the parent groups button machine. It will be about $250.00 to buy one. After all materials are purchased it will cost approx. 40 cents each. Jake Motioned to do two buttons, Tamara 2nd. One for before your arrested and one for after.

The County will be out to do the 500' sidewalk addition. They are trying to build the rest of the sidewalk into the budget.

A businessmens/womens mixer tonight at the Elks in myrtle creek at 6pm.

The Chamber will sponsor a $35.00 plaque for the Mens Single Horseshoe Competition at Pioneer days. Jake Motioned Tamara 2nd.

Pam Landell will be coming around with paperwork about getting more business for the downtown merchants. Madalynn needs information for the newsletter. You can email canyonvillechamber.org with anything you would like posted. Pam recently did Art in the Park with Riddle kids. She said it went well.
July 1st Lilley's Pad will be changing hands. Tina Jensen and Katey Seamons will be the new owners.
Pam also is wanting to open an Art Gallery in the empty area next to Bead Mecca. The South Umpqua Valley Art Gallery or SUVA would house local artists work for purchase. Hopefully be the end of July it will open. She still needs tape, texture and paint.

Grades K,1,2, 3/4 combo, 5 and 6 will be in Canyonville next year. The DLC was moved to Myrtle Creek. On the Schoolboard Jeannie Weekly and the new Superintendent will start in July.

Forrester's has new owners David and Shelly Klaas. They have also joined the Chamber. Please stop by and say hi.

A new store Just Essentials will be opening next to Lilleys Pad. They will be selling toilet paper, paper towels and other home essentials.
