We have for the Oregon 150 at the fairgrounds on Sept 26Th is reserved. We have a center space. We need to get our stuff together pictures, and who is going to be there to talk about the town.

Sherry Roberts from Seven Feathers is doing the graphics for our buttons. We will have the Beard badge, Jail badge and 150 badge. Stephanie and Pam are going to make them when the time comes.

Non-profits can now advertise on the local radio station for free. Contact john@krem.org to place the ad.

The sidewalk project has started. They are currently working on moving the existing underground lines.

Tim Freeman said the 75Th session has now ended for the state representatives. They discussed 1200 bills and increased the budget by 9% from last year. Inflation is currently at a standstill. There is a 21% increase in budget for the state government. DHS is has a 30% increase from last year.

The yard sale is almost here. Javelin has maps at Promise, you can also pick them up at the visitors center and the park on Saturday. They will be serving Blueberry pancakes and eggs from 8-11 and Hot dogs from 11-3. Pam put our over 80 signs and placed public service announcements. Javelin needs electric griddles and skillets for cooking on sat. Zack, Steve, Jake, Joy, Tamara and Judy have volunteered to help. Be there at 6-7am to help.

The South Umpqua School District hat there first board meeting. It was the annual reorganization meeting. Jeff Johnson has retained the chair position and Bob Ankeny is the Vice-chair. One of the topics is returning the middle school to Canyonville. Steve the new Superintendent is working on a lot of projects and everything seems to be moving along.

Saturday evening is the Music for Music benefit in the parking lot of Rays. There will be hot dogs, chips and a drink for $4.00. It will run from 6-8pm.

Nest Tuesday the Pioneer Day Committee has a meeting at Ken's Sidewalk cafe at 12pm.

Javelin needs more entries for the bed races at Pioneer Days.

The Myrtle Creek Elks Lodge has a scholarship dinner. Its $20.00/ person and the scholarship winners will be reading there essays. The Golf tournament is Sunday with a 9am tee off. teams are 4 people.

Friday there is an auction at the casino for Douglas County Youth Development.

Shane Hancock has opened a branch of Pennsylvania Life in South County. The company has been around for 119 years. It focuses on the self employed and families. They also can help with Medicare and Medicare Supplements.

Seven Feathers had a new banner made for Pioneer Days and it should be hung soon.

We received the first power bill for the north sign. We need to look into grants or get some ideas to help cover cost.

Signs for reader boards at Rays are being gone over. We will take down signs if payment is not made.Judy still hasn't been able to get a hold of Carl White. She will keep trying.

The yard sale is coming along. There are a few people who have rented space at the park. We will need help getting items from Bead Mecca to Pioneer Park. Jake, Steve will help move. Please Bring donations to Park between 7-8am on 18Th.

Cheryl is going to find out if we can advertise on local radio. 92.1FM Canyonville radio station plays country. The 4J school dist is broadcasting.

Brett Moan sent a Thank You card for the scholarship.

We have the plans for the bleacher cover at Pioneer Park. It will be 17'.2" tall with a 2' lip above and below to help with shade. We will have space available for pictures. It will go out to bid.

We will order the Root beer float supplies for the Olde Tyme Album. It is the weekend before Pioneer Days.We will have a metal pot engraved for the "Chamber Pot" for the Olde Tyme Family Album award.

The Band Jam is the evening of the 18Th at rays.Joy Curtis and Tamara will sell Raffle tickets at rays for the TV. The drawing is August 30Th at 4pm.

We are asking for help from the City Council and Lions Club for the 150. We need to get pics for the booth.

Pioneer days meeting at Creekside Tuesday after that at Pioneer Park.

Canyonville School Committee had a meeting at Kens Last night.

The South Umpqua School Dist. Budget has been adopted for the 09-10 school year.

Jake has the North Welcome to Canyonville sign finished but has not received any bills yet.

The Lions Club Chili cook off BBQ booth went well. They made a little over 300.00. The Chamber is welcome to trade off every year if we want. Chamber declined.

Dean said the Elks Mixer went really well. Edie Cramer will try to do it next year. They are currently working on a can food drive for reservists. A motorcycle run on the 9th of August from Myrtle Creek to Galesville Res. The American Legion will be handing the food out.

The Pioneer Days Committee is still working on the TV raffle.With the drawing the last day of Pioneer Days. Please see Tamara if you would like to purchase tickets. 5.00/ticket or 5/20.00. A Concert featuring several bands will be in the Rays parking lot on July 18Th. They will be selling hamburgers and hot dogs. Katelyn Wiggs is organizing will be from 6-8pm.

Our City Wide Yard Sale is July 18Th from 8-4pm. Pam is submitting ads for the Paper and possibly Radio. Zack,Rick M, Joy, Tamara, and a few others have volunteered to help Javelin. You can still drop items with Pam at Bead Mecca.Breakfast and lunch will be served at Pioneer Park.

We have available spaces on the reader board at Rays.We would like to put on an extension on the Rays board for 8 new sign places. Javelin motioned Jake seconded.

Debbie from Forest Glen said we could hang a sign on her building for advertising if we want to.

the new superintendent from SUSD came to introduce himself and answer any questions. The new board
has been approved for the 09-10 school year.

The Pumpkin Fest is also doing a food drive.

Business of the month is Hometown Ins. The new sign should be up later today.

The button machine is on it's way. It comes with 50 buttons. We will need to order more. We also need graphics and an estimate for cost. Jake motioned to have 1000 buttons ordered and we will use them through out the year. Chuck seconded.

The Jail is coming along and should be ready soon for any events.

Forest Glen may have room for a food bank. They have a thrift shop open on Fri and Sat.

Web lists are being updated. If merchants haven't paid then they will be removed. Javelin will call those on the past due list to see if they are still interested.

Our booth for the 150 at the fairgrounds Sept 26Th - Mary Dell will bring produce, we will have the Jail and pictures of the local area from the past and present.

Jessica came by with ad offers from the News Review for the Chamber and local businesses. August 7Th would be print and send date. Jake motioned and Tamara seconded to do ad.
